D'Addario PB060 Phosphor Bronze Single String for Acoustic Guitar

This .060" gauge replacement string is designed for acoustic guitar, wound in corrosion-resistant phosphor bronze over a carefully drawn hex-shaped steel core. It belongs to the Phosphor Bronze series that D'Addario introduced in 1974, a line that has become a reference for warm, bright, and well-balanced acoustic tone. As a single, it solves the everyday problem of a broken low-end string without forcing the player to buy a full new set, and it also lets guitarists build custom gauge combinations that fall outside the standard light, medium, or heavy offerings. The ball-end termination fits any standard acoustic bridge pin, so installation takes only a few minutes with no modifications to the instrument.

Who This String Is For

This .060" gauge single is the right choice for acoustic guitar players who need a heavy low-end replacement string, whether to fix a single broken string or to assemble a custom set with extra bottom-end weight. It suits players who prefer drop tunings, open tunings, or DADGAD-style arrangements where the lowest string carries more tension and needs to hold its tone under heavier picking. The phosphor bronze wrap delivers the warm, bright, and well-balanced tone that has made this series a reference for acoustic players since 1974. Because it is a single string rather than a full set, it is also a practical pick for guitarists who want to experiment with hybrid gauges without committing to a complete custom set purchase.
