Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Single String — .028 Gauge

The D'Addario PB028 is a single .028" gauge wound string designed for acoustic guitar, crafted with the same materials and construction as D'Addario's best-selling Phosphor Bronze string series. D'Addario starts with a hexagonally shaped, high carbon steel core and carefully winds it with corrosion-resistant phosphor bronze, producing the warm, bright, and well-balanced tone the line is known for. This single string is ideal as a replacement for a broken or worn-out low-end string, or for players who want to build a custom gauge set outside the standard offerings. Pioneered in 1974, Phosphor Bronze remains one of the most popular acoustic string materials in the world.

Who Is This String For?

Acoustic guitar players who need a single replacement string at .028" gauge without buying a full set will find this PB028 a practical solution. It suits players who prefer the warm, bright, and well-balanced tone of phosphor bronze for strumming, fingerpicking, or flatpicking styles. The .028" gauge is commonly used as the low E or A string in light and custom acoustic sets, making this single string a smart option for those who wear out bass strings faster than trebles or who want to experiment with non-standard gauge combinations. All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA at the company's New York production facility.
