GoodMath is a plug-in from Make Believe Studios and Metric Halo built on a workflow that Rick Carson, 9x Grammy-nominated engineer and owner of Make Believe Studios, has used in his mixing for years, combining the workflow of four plug-ins in one. Call it a gain stage, call it a clipper or call it a rounding error: you simply turn each of its three faders up or down until you get the result you want. A hidden soft saturator, the A-Hole, adds one more flavor.

It's Just Good Math
GoodMath is the result of a technique that Rick Carson of Make Believe Studios has been using in his mixes for years, packed into a single plug-in together with Metric Halo. Instead of chaining several processors, it combines the workflow of four plug-ins in one simple interface that relies on the ears rather than on numbers.
How It Works
The plug-in has three faders. Each one can be turned up or down until the signal sounds right, and lasso select lets you grab several faders at once. The A-Hole button switches in a soft saturator for extra character. Many presets are included, the UI size is adjustable, and the Metric Halo header offers A/B registers with a blend control, undo/redo and the MH Preset Manager.

GoodMath is the right choice for producers and mix engineers who want extra punch and loudness without losing dynamics, using a workflow that is quick to learn. It works in Pro Tools, Logic, Studio One, Nuendo and other major DAWs. It runs as a 64-bit AU, VST2, VST3 or AAX plug-in on Mac OS X 10.10 or newer (Intel or Apple Silicon) and as VST or AAX on Windows 7 or newer; licensing uses an iLok.com account with two activations, and an iLok dongle is optional.
