It has built in switch for 3khz shelf boost - obviously a boost that everyone put on the SM7B via plugin or mixer. So the advertisement is true, unbox it and ready to make podcasts without software tweaking on the voice. It is a dynamic microphone, so you don't need phantom power supply which makes it very versatile, also having ppsu won't damage it, so you can leave it in a system where other microphones may need it.
