This is an automatic translation by software:Good morning, I’m considering purchasing the RockCase RC 10861 GU/FL 5-guitar case. I’d like to know if the case’s interior materials—specifically the velvet lining, padding, and areas that come into contact with the body and neck—are compatible with nitrocellulose-finished instruments and therefore safe even if the instruments are stored inside the case for extended periods. One of the instruments I plan to store is a 1992 Gibson Explorer with a nitrocellulose finish. Could you confirm whether this model is considered “nitro-safe” or “nitrocellulose-safe” and whether it can be used for long-term storage of this type of instrument without the risk of reactions, stains, or damage to the finish? Thank you in advance for your assistance. Best regards

Dear Customer,Thank you for your inquiry.According to the technical specifications, the RockCase RC 10861 GU/FL case features:a black velvet lining (velveteen);foam rubber padding;padded handle supports;an internal polystyrene frame lined with velvet. In the case of instruments with a nitrocellulose finish, such as a 1992 Gibson Explorer, certain types of foams, rubbers, adhesives, or plasticizers present in the materials that come into contact with the instrument may cause undesirable reactions. When a case is indeed compatible with nitrocellulose-finished instruments, manufacturers generally explicitly state this in the specifications using phrases such as “nitro safe” or “nitrocellulose safe.”Since this certification or indication is not provided for the RC 10861 GU/FL model—neither in the product specifications nor on the manufacturer’s official website—it cannot be considered with certainty suitable for the long-term storage of a valuable guitar with a nitrocellulose finish.Best regards.
