Pedálový kompresor prémiové kvality určený pro elektrickou baskytaru a kytaru. Orange Kongpressor je vybaven Class A obvodem a optickým kompresorem, který je zasazen v pevné kovové konstrukci. Přední panel nabízí pětici ovládacích prvků, mezi kterými je možné nalézt potenciometry Volume pro nastavení hlasitosti, Chime, pro nastavení odezvy výškových frekvenci, Squash, pro nastavení komprese a standardní dvojici ovládacích prvků Attack a Release, které se starají o průběh komprese. Pedál je díky vestavěnému zdvojovací napětí z 9 na 18V vybaven masivním headroomom. O spínání efektu se stará kvalitní transparentní buffer. Pedál je možné napájet pomocí 9V baterie nebo 9-12V adaptérem (center negative), který není součástí balení. Rozměry: 9,5 x 6,5 x 13 cm, hmotnost: 495 g.
Features Optical Class A Compression The
Kongpressor’s analogue, Class A design makes for very natural sounding
compression. The vintage-inspired optical circuit adds extra depth your
guitar or bass tone, making it seem ‘larger than life’. The attack
and release times can be adjusted to taste allowing for fine tuning of
the bloom and perceived plectrum gauge. Faster attack times will react
to the front of the note faster, while slower attack times will add
punch to the sound as the compression reacts slower on the transient.
Fast release times will give more perceived clean volume along with a
more transparent compression. Slower release times will yield more
compression and a slower, mellower bloom. With any attack or release
setting, the Kongpressor has a satisfying, springy playing response
under the fingers. 12dB Clean Boost With up to 12dB of clean gain
available on the Volume control, the Kongpressor works brilliantly as a
transparent clean boost pedal, but with a little extra ‘something’. With
the compression turned up, your lead lines will cut through the band
with plenty of fat, singing sustain. Internal Charge Pump Like all
Orange pedal’s, the Kongpressor features an internal charge pump which
doubles the operating voltage of the pedal to 18V. This has the effect
of drastically increasing the headroom for super clean compression. The
Kongpressor can be powered by 9V battery or standard DC adapter, or for
even more output can also run on 12V DC. Transparent Buffered Bypass The
Kongpressor’s bypass features an ultra-linear buffer which retains your
guitar’s upper harmonic content when the pedal is switched off.

Ahogy írják, finomabb effekt, nincsenek extremitások. A boost nagyon nagy, ráadásul a kompresszió is boostol, nem csak vág a jelből - így fülre -, nem csak a "Volume", ami meglepett. Tiszta hangok létrehozásához nagyon szép. A basszus tartományt gyakorlatilag békén hagyja (high pass filter???), de basszusgitáron is teljes értékű. Nagyon erős és szép kivitelezés. Elégedett vagyok. Jazz ist mein Metier und daher habe dreht es sich bei mir mir auch im Wesentlichen um Clean Sounds. Außerdem interessiere ich mich im Moment für zwei Verwendungen eines Compressors: always on, um den Sound etwas transparenter zu machen und insbesondere beim Comping mit Block Chords die einzelnen Töne deutlicher hervorzuheben oder als deutlich hörbarer Effekt, zu hören z.B. bei Kevin Eubanks (A New Day auf Prism von Dave Holland). Es ist mein erster Versuch mit Kompressorpedalen.
Den Kongpressor habe ich mit einem Modeling Amp (Fender G-DEC3 30, eingestellt auf Tweed Clean), meinem 90-er Jahre Fender The Twin mit Attenuator (Weber Mass III) und im Proberaum ohne Attenuator getestet. Das Meiste habe ich mit einer Strat (G&L) gespielt, ab und zu auch eine alte ES 335.
Der Kongpressor reagiert sehr unterschiedlich auf die verschiedenen Amps. Daher meine Empfehlung: unbedingt ausprobieren! Aber nicht enttäuscht sein, wenn es in dem eigenen Setting nicht passt.
Mit dem kleinen Modeling Amp ist die Veränderung bei subtilen Settings schlicht sensationell: der Ton wird luftig leicht und schwebend; jede einzelne Note tritt klar hervor, gerade Block Chords leben auf, alles schimmert und glänzt, ohne dass mehr Höhen hinzukommen oder die Qualität des Anschlags verändert wird. Ich war sofort verliebt.
Allerdings änderte sich das Bild mit dem Twin: mit Attenuator war noch einiges zu hören von der Klangverbesserung und der Luftigkeit. Ohne Attenator und auf ordentlicher Proberaumlautstärke blieb leider gar nichts mehr übrig. Daher: unbedingt vorher mit dem bevorzugten Setup ausprobieren.
Einen Effekt-artigen Sound kann man in sehr hohen Settings gut hinbekommen. Damit lassen sich sowohl die typischen Funk Sounds zaubern als auch sehr komprimiert-perkussive Solo Sounds. Es gibt durchaus Kompressoren, die kräftiger zupacken.
Die KLangregelung empfand ich als sehr hilfreich, da man damit sowohl im always on-Modus einen mgölichst unverfälschten Sound als auch beim Effekt-artigen Einsatz - wenn gewünscht - eine schöne Färbung mitgeben kann.
Insgesamt: unbedingt antesten!
